Our six Learning-Areas
The school provides a friendly, caring environment in which the children can engage in
a rich variety of both chosen and directed activities. Our activities are organised within a
series of topics which reflect the children`s interests, needs and experience.
The planning for our children`s learning is supported by the English National “Curriculum Guidance for the Foundation stage”. This Curriculum divides children`s development into six inter-related learning areas.
 
These areas include:
·         Personal, emotional and social development
·         Communication language, and literacy
·         Mathematical development
·         Creative development
·         Physical development
·         Learning & Knowledge about the world
 
The activities are organised within a chosen theme which may extend over several weeks to ensure an in-depth and holistic approach to learning. Our teachers use these guidelines to ensure that the activities are balanced so that they offer ample opportunities for our children to develop in all these areas.
We have adapted parts of the curriculum, especially the development of literacy, so as to fully meet the requirements of both international and German primary schools.
Our curriculum provides a foundation in thinking and communication skills supportive of a life-long joy in learning. We strive through all our activities to instil in our pre-school children values of tolerance, respect for individual and cultural diversity, honesty, independence, self-discipline and self-esteem.
